aambadal


आंबाडाळ मराठी मधे



It's summer in India. Hot everywhere. thirsty throat and to quench the thirst the remedy is raw mango squash or 'kairiche panhe' as we call it in marathi. Panhe is often served with the dish called 'aambadal'. It is prepared of bengal gram or chick pea pulse. like squash it also contains raw mango hence the taste is sweet and sour.

Ingredients

chick peas- 1 cup( soak in 1 cup of water)
raw mango-(peeled and grated)- 1/2 cup
green chili-1
salt and sugar to taste
coriander leaves for garnishing
for tampering- oil-3-4 tea sp, mustard seeds-2 tea sp, asafoetida-2 tea sp., turmeric powder- 1 tea sp.
grated coconut- 2 tea sp (optional)

procedure-

coarsely grind soaked chick peas with salt,sugar and chili in a mixer.
Transfer the contents in a bowl and add grated raw mango init and mix well. Add cut coriander leaves.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, asafoetida. let it cool and then add turmeric powder. Mix this with chick pea's mixture.
Serve cold with raw mango squash.
