Watana Usal
This is a very easy dish to prepare. You can use frozen green peas in case fresh peas are unavailable. But the 'bhaji' tastes awesome with the fresh green peas.
for this You need...
fresh green peas or watana- 2 cups
freshly ground coconut-1/2 cup
coriander leaves-1/2 cup
turmeric powder-1 t sp
salt to taste
for tadka
oil-2-3 tsp
mustard seeds-1 t sp
asafoetida-1 t sp
green chili-2
Method
Heat oil in a kadai
Give tadka of mustard seeds, asafoetida and green chili.
add turmeric powder and mix well
Cover with lid and put some water on the lid. simmer the flame and let it cook for 5-10 minutes
after it is cooked add coconut, coriander leaves and salt. Mix well
Usal is ready
Serve hot with chapati
